“The largest rise in the use of psychometric testing has been for employee development activities” HRmagazine.co.uk
Traditionally psychometric tools have been largely associated with corporates and recruitment decisions, but interestingly, this trend has started to turn with the principal increase in the use of assessments falling into the domain of people development activities.
Psychometric assessments play a key role in identifying the strengths and developmental areas of individuals, ensuring improved levels of self-awareness and understanding. This is pivotal when making life and career choices and /or embarking on any developmental journey.
As with most things in life, one size does not fit all. It is key that the assessments you undertake need to be relevant to what it is you are aiming to achieve in your developmental journey, so an individual looking for career guidance would be best served by a very different assessment battery than if they were having relationship issues with a colleague. Similarly, a CEO looking to understand the synergies of their team vs. the same CEO looking to select their successor, will most likely benefit from a different selection of assessments.
However, whatever your requirement, all psychometric assessment tools being used need to meet fundamental requirements. They must be:

PPA: Personal Profile Analysis
PPA provides a rapid and deep insight into a person’s behavioural preferences and communication style. Using four main profile factors: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Compliance, the PPA provides information on an individual’s fears, motivators, values and behaviours. The assessment is designed to help an individual understand his/her behaviour in the workplace, understand the behaviour of others, and how to use this knowledge in different work situations.
“The starting point for change is acknowledging one’s behaviour. No matter what the personality of the individual, results come from behaviour.”
Enneagram:
The Enneagram creates self-awareness and uncovers the patterns of behaviour that sub-consciously drive and motivate us to act in certain ways. When we make these patterns and motivations conscious, we can go beyond them, developing richer, more supportive ways of being. Working with the Enneagram helps individuals understand why they act and react in the manner that they do, empowering them to take responsibility for their own behaviours and growth.
As a framework, the Enneagram also speaks to the journey of integration and development in a profound way. It uncovers the uniqueness of each individual and his/her journey, not only revealing what xholds an individual back, but also offering insights into the journey towards strength and liberation, connecting us to our strengths and higher selves. The Enneagram is, therefore, a sense-making tool or a framework that enables the development of self-knowledge and awareness.

The TEIQue provides information to individuals that better helps them to understand their strengths and limitations, how well they develop new relationships, and how self-motivated and adaptable they are. This information will guide you and help you become more aware of your emotional intelligence, providing a basis for development and training activities.
GIA: The General Intelligence Assessments
